Discover spring within the snowy city of Asahikawa on this jubilant walk.
Around 90% of the staff at OMO7 Asahikawa are from Asahikawa and the surrounding areas.
This time we will introduce an Asahikawa spring experience thought up by these local people: the Jubilant Spring Walk led by our OMO Green Ranger!
Asahikawa is famous even among Hokkaido as an especially cold area.
In winter, the snow piles up and the place is engulfed in severe cold.
Because of this, when the snow melts a sense of liberation descends upon everybody, jubilant about the coming of spring!
Furthermore, in order to make it an even more festive experience, we will be specially preparing “flower crowns” and “flower sticks” for you to wear!
Why not share in the great jubilation by putting these items on and discovering what spring is like in Asahikawa with our OMO Green Ranger?
〇 Simultaneous blooming of flowers
On Honshu, Japan’s main island, the plum, peach, and cherry blossoms occur one after another from late February into April. In Asahikawa however, all of these flowers bloom at once with the rising temperatures in mid-April, lasting around a month until late May. On the Jubilant Spring Walk, you will be able to see the cherry blossom, azaleas, tulips, and more.
〇 Special items to wear on the walk
This is the official wear for our Jubilant Spring Walk! We will embark on this tour wearing “flower crowns” and holding “flower sticks.” By donning these items that you don’t usually wear, it will heighten your sense of jubilation.
