Hokkaido Animal Halloween
The staff dressed up as Hokkaido animals will serve you.
From October 1 to 31st, OMO7 Asahikawa will hold the Hokkaido Animal Crossing Halloween event where animals from Hokkaido will entertain guests at the hotel.
Since Halloween is all about costumes, staff dressed up as Hokkaido animals will entertain guests. The entire first floor, centered around OMO Base, will be decorated in the image of Hokkaido’s autumn forest. The Asahiyama Zoo Lecture, which is held every day at OMO Base, will also feature Hokkaido animals as its theme.
At OMO Cafe & Bar, limited edition sweets featuring brown bears will also be available, allowing guests to enjoy a Halloween that is uniquely Hokkaido throughout their stay.
OMO Cafe & Bar Transforms into Hokkaido's Autumn Forest
During the event, the entire first floor is decorated with images of Hokkaido’s autumn forests.
Surrounded by yellow leaves and nuts, visitors can enjoy a Halloween atmosphere that incorporates the characteristics of Hokkaido.
Hokkaido animals welcome guests
Five kinds of animals from Hokkaido appear on the show. Different animals appear at different times of the day to liven up various services.
・Yezo Brown Bear
With the slogan “Trick or SAKETOBA!” they hand out their favorite foods, such as salmon ribs and cookies. Yezo Brown Bear appears at various locations throughout the museum.
・Yezo Owl
Every day at 8:00p.m., the knowledgeable Yezo Owl and OMO Rangers hold the Asahiyama Zoo Lecture where they talk about the animals of Hokkaido. They talk about the animals’ preparations for winter and the natural environment in which they live.
・Yezo squirrel
Helping guests stay as a concierge. Here are some recommended shops and walking spots that I know only because I run around Asahikawa every day.
・Yezo deer
When you enter OMO Base, you will be greeted by Yezo deer. They look over the OMO Base from a wide perspective and guide you to the front counter. Yezo deer also help you take photos.
・Yezo snow rabbit
Guests arriving at the hotel receive a complimentary welcome drink from Yezo snow rabbit. This original drink is made from honeysuckle *1 and aronia *2.
*1 Haskap: The fruit of a honeysuckle shrub found in Hokkaido and parts of Siberia.
*2 Aronia: The fruit of a rose plant native to North America. Hokkaido is strong against cold weather and the top cultivator in Japan.
Asahiyama Zoo Lecture on Hokkaido's Animals
The Asahiyama Zoo Lecture is held daily at 8:00p.m. at OMO Base. For a limited time in the fall, the theme is Hokkaido’s animals.
Owls are known as the sages of the forest, and in this lecture, the erudite Yezo Owl joins OMO Rangers to teach the characteristics and secrets of Hokkaido’s animals at Asahiyama Zoo.

Limited Edition Sweets "Ezo Higuma Mont Blanc"
At OMO Cafe & Bar on the first floor, Ezo Brown Bear Mont Blanc will be sold for a limited time. You can make your own Ezo Brown Bear Mont Blanc by squeezing your own Mont Blanc cream and attaching your eyes and ears.
